One in eight children need extra maths tuition, a statistic which encouraged Whizz Education to set up Maths.whizz.com (launched this September), a personal online tutoring service. The tutoring service covers the whole UK maths curriculum and is also designed to be fun to use, with thousands of animated characters and interactive games to help children get to grips with mathematical topics.

Developed by leading educationalists, it assesses each child individually, creating personalised lessons and evolving with the child as they improve. The price of a month’s subscription is £27.50.
