At the beginning of the new school year, Maths-Whizz Teachers’ Resource returned to schools with an enhanced version of the software. This new version incorporated improvements to over 1000 exercises, including voice and sound to more than 500 lessons and a new layout showing lessons defined by the National Strategy for Maths.
A dedicated team are now currently working to deliver the first upgrade to schools in time for the Easter Holiday. The main feature includes curriculum changes as well as suggested by teachers and students.
Maths-Whizz is continuing to grow at a rapid rate and can currently can be found in over 2600 schools across the country.

Over the next year we plan to make a number of improvements to Maths-Whizz. We aim to find out exactly what you think about us and whether there is anything that we can do to improve our method. So look out over the coming year for questionnaires and other feedback mechanisms and make sure that if you feel strongly in any way about our service that you let us know!
I will be blogging to tell you a little bit more about how our tuition system works and hopefully fill in some of the blanks that you perhaps might have. This time I would like to give you a general overview of the Maths-Whizz philosophy and what exactly we hope to achieve.
We believe that classrooms do not provide an environment that allows children to fully reach their potential and this is backed by a recent government report that advocates ‘personalised learning’. This recognises the fact that different children have different needs- some need to catch up and others feel held back.
Our desire is to help children achieve whichever of these objectives that they are seeking and we feel that we have been doing a pretty good job of this.
It is only really by stretching children while giving them an opportunity to go at their own pace that they can really achieve regardless of their skill level. This is something that isn’t really possible to fully facilitate in a classroom and that is why we exist- not to replace schooling but to add another dimension to learning. We think that this should be one in which learning is both fun and fulfilling and this is what we are working towards.
We’ve set out to help our students make the most of their childhood schooling, change their attitude towards learning and to give them the best head-start that we can in life.

We are very pleased to announce the public launch of ‘The Whizz’ blog – a sister site of Whizz Education. For those of you unfamiliar with blogs, they are essentially online journals where people share news and commentary on pretty much any subject.
Like all blogs, The Whizz encourages you, the visitor, to participate by adding your thoughts to the comments section at the bottom of a post. The Whizz will feature news about Whizz Education, plenty of inside educational news & tips and a scattering of posts on pretty much anything else we find interesting.
The concept of blogging is quite new to The Whizz, so we have been testing it internally for some time; you will find an archive of previous posts in the menu to the right. Expect the archive to grow rapidly, as we add lots of useful resources and tips. Keep coming back to see what’s new.
We all hope you enjoy reading The Whizz.
