Read on for tips and information about your forthcoming Maths-Whizz student experience!
When Maths-Whizz Tutoring has been updated, you’ll see a new option on the signpost after you’ve logged in. You can either go straight to your bedroom, or you can open the Student Console.
Student Console
The console is where you’ll find all the great new features. From the console you can also access lessons, dictionary and the bedroom, of course.
Let’s see how the console works:
Edit Profile
You can choose a Whizz character to represent you. Click “Edit Profile” in the console and choose a character on the next screen.
Replay
Replay is a great new way of re-trying exercises and earning more credits too! When you click on “Replay” in the console you will see the exercises you’ve just completed in the tutor, and you can scroll back to see older ones. By hovering your mouse over the exercise you’ll also be able to see your best score and click to launch it and try again.

In Replay you can view your ‘challenges’. To have challenges you need to add friends, or ‘buddies’ (see below). When you do well in lessons your score and time is compared with your buddies. If you have done better than one or more buddies, they will be challenged to beat you!
Leader Boards
Want to see how you’re doing compared to other Whizzers? The new leader boards will show you how you compare with other Whizzers – close friends, or ‘buddies’, whizzers at your school and the top ten of all our Whizz students. To see other Whizzers at your school you’ll need to ask your parent to link you to your school by going to their account page.
Buddies
Do you have friends who use Maths-Whizz? You can add them to your personal leader-board and challenge them to do better than you in maths exercises! You’ll need to know their Whizz names (usernames – e.g. ‘MickeyM99’). Click “Add buddy” and type in the Whizz name and we’ll invite them to be your Buddy.

You’ll be able to see how buddies are doing in the “My Buddies” leader board.
To challenge a buddy you don’t need to do anything except do well in your lessons! When you finish an animated exercise that your buddy has also finished, we’ll compare your scores and times. If you have done better than your buddy, he or she will be challenged them to beat your score. All they need to do is go to Replay and try the exercise again. You can see which exercises you have been challenged on, by clicking ‘challenges’ in the replay section.
