Hi Toni,
Just want to say that my children have been on Maths Whizz since August last year. My children aged 6 and 10 complete 30 minutes each saturday and again on sunday (1hr week) before we leave the house. I find it hard to fit in time for Whizz after school because of school clubs, tutoring and swimming lessons, so I opt for one hour at the weekend instead. My children have still made improvements in maths and my eldest son has moved up a maths group. Your customer service is fantastic, always very helpful. Over the course of our subscription ((9mths) my children have bought/tried everything in the Whizz shop and so there is less incentive for them to be enthused about the time they spend doing their Whizz. They now see it more as a chore and spend little time in their Whizz bedroom. Decor changes are good but do not necessarily grip child continuously.
Would be helpful if some more thought could be given to other types of toys etc. in order to maintain their goals, need to achieve enough credits to buy that new item, and more regularly changing items that can be bought.
Idea you might consider:
How about buy a dog or a cat.
How about a virtual you (child can choose who he can be - like on club penguin, you are a penguin and can change your clothes) and interact with your dog, throw a ball for him to catch, pet him, feed him.
Something humorous would also be good.
Hope that helps.

Patricia,
Thanks so much for the detailed feedback, we’re very grateful for this. I have passed your comments to our customer service team and they will take them on board, especially those about the bedroom changes and toys.
For your information, we are soon releasing a bedroom tortoise (in addition to new furniture…!). Virtual pets are more complex beasts, but we will seriously consider adding them.
As for student ‘virtual yous’, or ‘avatars’, we are investigating that with future product releases - watch this space.

Hugh enjoyed whizz at the beginning and as he gets older I am sure he will get more involved with it. Customer service is excellent and it is difficult as a parent to know what your child should be doing and what he needs extra help with. It would help if there was a repeat button to go over a topic but using a different angle. This would build a strong foundation and not rely on the computer programme totally to recognise that the child need reinforcement and not moving on to another topic and allow some parental input. I feel that it is very important to get the basis of maths correct - number bonds etc before moving on and this programme should reinforce this. Thankyou Whizz for your support so far.

Ruth,
Thanks so much for your feedback. We’re always looking for new ways to improve our tutoring system and the thousands of lessons therein.
At the moment, students can get reinforcement of lessons via the ‘revision’ section, available from the student bedroom. New updates to the tutoring service this autumn will add ‘Replay’, a cool way of revisiting material learned, and adding incentives to do so. More on this will follow in customer updates and blog posts!
