Revise!
Even the best students need to revise.
Students can advance very fast with the Maths-Whizz tutor, but no matter how much progress a child makes, periodically revisiting subjects is vital for long-term success. Encourage your child to do a little revision now and then; students don’t get any credits for passing revision exercises (after all, they should already know this material!) but they do get a confidence boost by reinforcing their learning and they can use Revision to prepare for tests and exams.
To access Revision, your child must open the Whizz menu (bottom-left corner of the bedroom page) and select ‘Revision’.

i totally agree - and because frequent revision is so vital to understanding and long term recall - i find it strange that Maths Whizz doesnt give credits for revision.
At the moment Maths-Whizz puts a value on initial learning only with the credits system.
I think it would help drive the message home and influence behaviour if credits were also given on revision exercises.

I agree with Paul. Awarding credits for revision exercises will motivate children to complete them. Not giving credits conveys the message that revision has no value.

Paul, Edith,
Thanks so much for your input on this. Awarding credits for revision is something that we have been thinking about for some time. We are adding this function to our forthcoming ‘Replay’ tool when we release updates to our online tutor this autumn. Watch this space.
