The Harnessing Technology Grants have replaced the e-Learning Credits, which expired in 2008.

The Harnessing Technology Strategy sets the broader context for local authority and school spending on ICT.

The Strategy aims to support national education and skills priorities by building an education and skills system that has the capacity to harness technology effectively for the benefit of learners.

Tailored and responsive assessment, both continuous formative for each individual student and summative for classes and schools, and for individual end-of-stage assessment.

Builds relationships between families, schools and learners through online access both at school and at home, and parental access to reports.

 

Maths-Whizz Tutoring Plus for Schools is a subscription service providing ongoing digital curriculum resources to schools, their learners and parents. The service is used for periods of at least one year, normally 2 to 5 years.

Maths-Whizz Tutoring Plus for Schools therefore qualifies for use of the Harnessing Technology Grant in accordance with BECTA’s guidance for schools and local authorities.

Schools and local authorities may also be able to use Devolved Formula Capital and School Development Grant to fund subscriptions to Maths-Whizz Tutoring Plus for Schools.

Schools should also consider their School Standards Grant (Personalisation) allocation for low prior attainment students, and also Extended Schools Funding. This is because Maths-Whizz Tutoring Plus for Schools aims - and is proven - to accelerate the progress in maths of all students.
