Upon the completion of the installer, ‘Registration.exe’ will launch. Click the ‘Existing user’ button located at the right of the screen. You will now be required to enter your username and password which was emailed to you when you registered.

2. On the licence activation screen why can I not see a submit button to activate my software?
Maths-Whizz® Teachers’ Resource works on a minimum screen resolution of 800 X 600.
However for the best performance we recommend running at 1024 X 768.
Instructions to change screen resolution:
Windows
- Right click on the desktop and a menu will appear.
- Click on 'Properties'.
- Select the 'Settings' tab.
- Drag the slider under the 'Screen Resolution' until it is set to either 800 X 600 or 1024 X 768.

- When you are asked if you want to keep the new resolution setting, click Yes'.
- The screen resolution has now been set correctly.
Mac
- Click the apple button on the desktop.
- Click ‘System Preferences’.
- Under the hardware section, click ‘Displays’.
- Select either 800 × 600 or 1024 × 768 from the list.
- The screen resolution will change accordingly to your selection.
3. When I launch the software why does the screen sometimes seem to flicker?
A few users have experienced flickering when launching an exercise. A solution to stop the flickering is to load any of the resources (Matching Charts, User Guide, Licence Agreement etc). Once the resource has fully loaded and you return to the exercise, you will normally find that the flickering has stopped.
From version 2.3 onwards you will find another executable in ‘Program Files\Maths-Whizz’ called ‘Maths-Whizz(Low Res).exe’. This executable runs at a low resolution of 800 × 600, and should prevent any flickering.
Networking
4. Why does the software only work when I log on as administrator?
Early versions of Maths-Whizz (V2-V2.2) require ‘read & write’ permissions to the ‘c:\Program Files’ folder on each of the local/client machines. Upon run-time a folder called ‘Maths-Whizz’ is created as a subfolder under ‘Program Files’. If this folder has not been created on the machine you are using, then the software will alert you that you do not have a licence to use it, and you must adapt the permissions on that machine.
Another way around this is to create the ‘Maths-Whizz’ folder manually on the local machine and adapt the privileges to that folder exclusively.
Upgrading
5. I have just upgraded, so why can I not see any screenshots of exercises anymore?
This is due to the upgrade being installed into the wrong path. Launch the updater again and when asked to select your current Maths-Whizz installation, browse to ‘c:\Program Files\Maths-Whizz’. Double click this folder then click ‘ok’. You will now see the correct path in the input box. Click through to complete the upgrade.
