Key Stage 3
Maths-Whizz for Key Stage 3 covers all National Numeracy Strategy objectives for Years 7, 8 and 9.
Math-Whizz lessons for KS3 are more text oriented.
- Visuals in KS3 are far more sophisticated than previous stages. Fantasy figures, superheroes and light-hearted "scary stuff" are common elements
- Exercises in KS3 are the most advanced yet. Some are multi-stage exercises where the student must successfully solve part of a problem, then use that answer to solve the remainder
- Interactivity is very much a part of KS3. In many cases, the student is called upon to manipulate an object in order to discover the correct answer.
- Help, as always, is close to hand. But in KS3, rather than simply offering a hint, help may involve going back and recapping material taught earlier in the lesson. As well, use of the help feature may lower the child's final score.
- Maths-Whizz for KS3 concludes the Maths-Whizz program. By now, the student will have acquired a solid foundation in maths and be well set for further learning.
