So who are Whizz?

Whizz founder, Ron van der Meer, developed the concept for Maths-Whizz whilst attempting to help his own children-then aged 9 and 10-with their maths homework.
A graphic designer and pioneer of ‘interactive pop-up’ books, Ron was no stranger to the world of interactive learning. Ron has created a number of maths books with the help of Bob Gardner. These include ‘The Maths Pack’-a best selling pop-up resource book for ages 9-16 and also Mathsmaster series 3+, 5+ and 7+. A total of 1.2 million books have been sold in over 21 countries.

Ron began to detail plans for Maths-Whizz in 2000, with emphasis on ease of use, guidance and reward as key learning tools. In 2003, Ron partnered with Richard Marett, who raised the finance and laid the groundwork for the sales success of the company.

Whizz Education is now a committed, award-winning team of creators, developers, business and customer service development managers and also contracted programmers and educationalists.

Maths-Whizz Teachers’ Resource has won a coveted BETT award, and is one of the best-selling and most often endorsed software products in UK schools. The Maths-Whizz Online Tutoring service is being used throughout the world, helping children aged 4 to 13 from the UK to Australia!
