About Maths-Whizz

Give every child in your class personalised support in maths

Our co-founder, Ron van de Meer, started teaching his daughter maths with pedagogically-sound pop-up books that he was famous for pioneering, and wondered whether the same dynamic could be achieved using digital tools. In 2004, we took Maths-Whizz – our pioneering virtual tutoring programme – to market as the first of its kind. Although our product changed, our will to teach well and make learning fun by creating proper, educationally-effective resources did not.

We are a team of expert educationalists fed up with questionable online maths games, unhelpful print-out-sheets, and human tutors who are only available at 6pm on a Saturday for an expensive hour. We know there should be an easier way for parents and teachers to find the right, adaptable resources so that every child under their care excels at school, fulfils their potential in maths, and, most importantly, enjoys learning.

Maths-Whizz is a virtual tutor designed and proven to do just that. It boosts confidence and accelerates learning in maths for 5-13 year-olds through gamified lessons and AI-generated, individualised learning plans.

From pop-up books to innovative online products, we’ve always pushed for progress. Join us for a week without charge and see for yourself just how much your child stands to benefit from permanent enrolment on their very-own, student-specific course.

How you can help us to help you

With a week’s worth of help and three simple steps, your child will be independently engaging with online, educational lessons targeted to their needs and programmed to put a smile on their face in the process.

Here’s how you can maximise the tutoring experience you gain in a week and make your own, informed decision about how to continue with your child’s home learning:

Encourage your child to take the initial Maths Age assessment to gain a profile of their strengths and weaknesses in maths. They’ll be congratulated and rewarded within the programme for completing the process. You can even send them a message to say well done!

Encourage your child to complete a few maths lessons which have been selected especially for them based on their assessment outcomes to boost ability and confidence. Note how the programme adapts when they find something difficult, informs you when they get stuck on a topic, and skips ahead when they’re finding something easy.

Take a look at your Parent Account and make use of the data collected from a few hours of use. Think about how the information might help your child’s teacher, or you, to understand your child’s educational struggles and successes and to know when encouragement or rewards are needed.

Using your trial period in this way will place you in the best position to decide whether to continue for a month, a year, or not at all in the unlikely event that, after seeing all the benefits, you still choose to cancel.
